    The Director, Enterprise Data Architecture is a seasoned enterprise data architect who can formulate, consult, and govern Cambia’s overall data architectural roadmap in conjunction with our Chief AI Officer and Chief Information officer organizations and the business. The individual in this position provides key technical data leadership for the planning and direction of major data initiatives with enterprise wide impact.

     

    The incumbent has overall responsibility and accountability for the data architecture systems and services for all company business functions. This requires working closely with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to utilize appropriate technology and industry standards to converge enterprise architecture, improve data quality, business processes, promote the strategic use of data technology, and enable the workforce to use technology. This role is critical as a leader of a team of architects; who are one of our strongest liaisons for the business. Success of this position requires innovation, flexibility, perseverance, the ability to make change happen, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

     

    This individual takes responsibility for compliance, security and leads the CAIO Architecture and Design team, who are responsible for defining and executing on the Cambia data technology roadmap.

     

    In this role, you will:

    • Plan, organize and lead the update/creation of the strategic data architectural pillars. This involves understanding business strategy and direction, collaboration with a wide variety of Technology Leaders, resolving conflicts of direction, and providing thought leadership on the best places to invest.
    • Plan, organize, lead and communicate the Data Architectural Technology Standards.
    • Responsible for activities that contribute to planning, creating and implementing a data architectural vision and strategy aligned with the company’s strategic business plan.
    • As part of the CAIO, provide overall data architecture and technical design guidance to the organization.
    • Provide technical directions to many project teams to ensure quality data systems for users in responsive and cost-effective manner, within the context of an enterprise-wide data plan.
    • Identifies opportunities to effectively leverage emerging technologies in support of current and future business functions. Oversees the development and adoption of global data technology standards and standard operating procedures to bring about cost efficiencies and streamline system interoperability.
    • Create and sustain business literacy and understanding of business processes in the CAIO organization.
    • Establish and maintain a high level of client trust and confidence in the team’s knowledge of, and concern for clients’ business issues.
    • Maintain clarity about organizational values, visions, meaning, and purpose.
    • Maintain a high level of knowledge and competency in enterprise data architecture and current information technologies.
    • Facilitate communication between all key data groups and customer community.
    • Has regular contact with the business to review projects and strategies and to address technology issues.
    • Has frequent communication with other companies and outside vendors on data issues and best practices.
    • Attends conferences and user groups; belongs to professional organizations.

     

    Minimum Requirements: 

    • Provides overall direction, guidance and definition of IT architecture, to effectively support CAIO business strategy
    • Advises on options, risks, ROI, system impact and technology priorities
    • Supports all architectural disciplines and champions strategic initiatives
    • Aligns enterprise architecture strategy with business goals
    • Lead technical strategy to integrate existing platforms and databases
    • Define metrics to measure and demonstrate strategic alignment and enterprise architectural value
    • Define migration plans to address the gaps between current and future state, while in sync with budgeting and program office teams
    • Experience with GCP or AWS; experience with both is a plus.
    • Develops and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading edge technology and/or integrating diverse user systems.
    • Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide enterprise architecture decision making
    • Works with senior management to approve allocation of budget to meet architectural initiatives critical to mission success.
    • Good understanding of serverless architecture
    • Good understanding of HIPAA and FedRAMP is a plus
    • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
    • Broad knowledge of information technology, with extensive knowledge of several related systems applications and/or technologies.
    • Extensive experience in high-level systems planning, design, development, maintenance and troubleshooting with a track record of accomplishments in large, complex, multi-tier based systems (including client/server, SaaS, SOA, Mobile platforms); it is highly desirable that all of a significant portion of this experience be in health care.
    • Technical knowledge and experience in the planning, design, and implementation of automated systems and architectural abstractions and design patterns.
    • Understanding of technology directions and trends and strategic business impacts.
    • Dynamic leadership ability that can develop and energize multidiscipline, high-performance work teams to learn and apply new skills/techniques to business needs.
    • Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
    • Demonstrated experience with leveraging the convergence of evolving technology and business/industry trends.
    • Previous experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement, involving broad based information systems, utilizing tools and techniques to effect business change; business systems analysis experience.
    • Demonstrated high competency in the execution of multiple large projects that have significant architectural impacts.
    • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management.
    • Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and marketing skills to work with users, senior management, and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.

    The Director, Enterprise Data Architecture would have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline with a Computer Science and/or IT focus; Graduate degree in business management or health management a plus or related field and 10 years of experience in planning/architecture development and support staff; 5 years’ experience in technology management for large corporations or institutions with at least 3 years’ experience at the senior management level or equivalent combination of education and experience.
